From the very strong similarity of the given names of the children in the three families, I think these were brothers. The major reference work on those of German descent in northwestern NJ (Chambers: "The Early Germans of NJ") says John came from Schoharie. Also, 4 of Henry's children "removed to NYS". What are the reference works which might elucidate their origins in Schoharie? I suspect the earliest Germans in Schoharie came originally in the first wave of Palatines 1709/10 who settled along the Hudson near and across from Kingston. I'm hoping to connect my NJ Hoffmans to Schoharie and from there probably to Livingston Manor.
