Peter Dietz Family Bible (Mattice Bible)

Submitted by Edward Davidson / Harold H. Miller

Peter, born 19 August 1748, was the son of William Dietz and Dorothea Wanner. On 25 February 1771 he married Anna Maria Sidnig.
Barbara Bonnell was the source of the following information on the bible: The old Mattice Bible was in a Chadderdon's possession, and a Aunt of mine sometime in the 1940's wrote down what was written in it. The note said the Bible was sent to Sophia (Mattice) Chadderdon living in Minnesota from New York when her father died in the 1800's.  Sophia Mattice Chadderdon died in 1874 in Minnesota. This is all the information I have concerning the Bible--I have no idea what happened to it.  Because it was sent in the 1800's all the way from New York to Minnesota makes me think there is a connection to it, but I don't know what it is.
Bible this will I tell you if someone comes and wants to carry you away, so speak up, let me lie in good peace.  I belong to Pitter Dietz.
If I would speak with the tongues of men and angels and not have love, I would become like a sounding brass or tingling symbol.
Pitter Dietz Eph. 3:13-14.  "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."  (Eph. 3:14).
