Former Doctor Passes Away At Schenectady

     Dr. John Rossman of Schenectady and one time resident of this village and one of the leading physicians of this county passed away at his home in that city Friday.
     Mr. Rossman was born in the town of Fulton in the year 1847. he for a time studied medicine with Dr. J. D. Wheeler and later took a course in the Philadelphia University of Medicine and Surgery where he was graduated with high honors. He then practiced again with Dr. Wheeler of this village after which he continued for years as a successful physician here.
     The write can recall when a young boy as being neighbors to him for years. he was always kind and friendly.
     He was a member of the Schoharie County Medical Society and for some twenty years was Health Officer of his town. He was a member of the Board of Examiners of Schoharie County. He was Past Master of the Middleburgh Lodge No. 663 F. & A. M. A member of John L. Lewis Chapter, No. 229, R. A. M., and of St. George's Commandery No. 37, A Past Noble Grand of La Bastile Lodge No. 494 I. O. O. F., Past Chief Patriarch of Middleburgh Encampment No. 129 For a time he was District Deputy Grand master and District Deputy Patriarch of the Schoharie District I. O. O. F.
     Mr. Rossman was twice married. his first wife being Mary, daughter of Cornelius Bouck who died in 1876. later on in the year 1883 he married his present wife, Elizabeth B. Smith, who survives him.
