Isban Hess Passed Away Monday
September 1926

     After an illness of several months, Isban Hess, aged 60, passed away at his home at Broome Centre Monday afternoon, Sept 13th. A few weeks ago he was taken to the Ellis hospital, Schenectady, hoping for aid, but nothing could be done, and he was brought back and tenderly cared for until the final passing.
     Mr. Hess was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel D. Hess, Sr., and was born at Livingstonville. When a young boy his father moved to this place where his boyhood and early manhood was passed. At one time he served as clerk and bookkeeper in the store of Alonzo Almy. For the past number of years he had resided at Broome Centre and at one time conducted a store at that place.
     Mr. Hess is survived by his wife, one son, now postmaster at Gilboa, and one daughter Martha, living in New Jersey. He is also survived by two brothers, Daniel and Page, and one sister, Frances, all of this place.
     His funeral will take place Thursday at 1 p. m., in the church at Broome Centre, Burial at Keyserkill.
