Dated 13 January 1847
The Last Will and Testament of Elisabeth Canada of Broome in the County of Schoharie and State of New York, late of Westerlo in the County of Albany, and State of aforesaid. I do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say:
First, I give and bequeath to my beloved Sister Louvina Burch Widow of the late John Haviland Burch, of Westerlo aforesaid the use or interest of four hundred and twenty dollars or so much of that sum, as may remain at my decease or whatever may remain of mine, after my decease either money or notes or other evidences of my debts during her natural life, or while she shall remain his widow, the principal of said money, debt or debts remain either in the hands of my executors herein after named or to be by him loned? on gard? and approved security, or the interest as the aforesaid, to be by him paid or caused to be so paid, to her yearly and every year during her natural life, as aforesaid, or until she shall again marry.
Second, I give and bequeath to Lull? C. Cole Husband of my sister Alive? Of Broom aforesaid, all that part of my personal property, which shall remain at my decease, consisting of money notes or other evidences of debts, after the decease of my dead Sister Louvina, or in case, she should again marry, after that she shall take folace, to have and to hold to him his heirs and assigns forever.
Thirdly, I give and bequeath to Alive?, wife said Cole the best of my two cloaks.
Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my sister, Lena, wife of Anson C. Cole my other cloaks.
Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my four sisters, Louvina, window of said John Burch, Alive? Wife of Lull? C. Cole, Lena wife of Anson C. Cole, and Esther, wife of Richard Husted, of Cobleskill in the said County of Schoharie, all the rest and residue of my personal estate consisting of clothing, and bedding, to be equally divided among them.
Sixthly and Lastly I nominate and hereby appoint the said Lull? C. Cole Executor to this my said last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
In Witness whereof I have hereunto, set my hand and seal the thirteenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty seven.
Note, the words "life while she shall remain his widow" underlined Elizabeth erased before signing.
Signed, Sealed, published, declared, by the foregoing name Elizabeth Canada, to be her last Will and testament in the presence of us, who have hereunto, subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of each other and of the testator.
