Will of Daniel Ellis
In the name of God Amen. I Daniel Ellis of the town of Fulton in the county of Schoharie and State of New York of the age of sixty six years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say
First I hereby direct my executor herein after named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses
Second I give devise and bequeath to my son Rasalis Ellis the sum of fifty dollars to be paid out of my real or personal estate one year after my death (The same to be accepted by him in lieu of dower
Third I hereby give devise and bequeath to my daughter Margaret Clikerman <Likman ?> the sum of two hundred dollars to be paid at any time when it may be convenient for my executor to pay the same within five years from my death with interest from the time of this instrument being admitted to probate the same to be received in lieu of dower.
Fourth I give and devise all the rest residue & remainder of my estate both real and personal of mine <name ?> or nature whatsoever and including all household furniture to my son Stephen T. Ellis
Lastly I do hereby nominate and appoint my friend Orson Spickerman of the town of Fulton Schoharie County to be the executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight-hundred and seventy six.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date therein signed sealed published and declared by the said Daniel Ellis as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto

In the matter of proving the will of Daniel Ellis last of the town of Fulton dec’d
Schoharie County ss:
Alvin Holliday and John G. Prout in the county of Schoharie being first duly sworn in open court do depose and say that they are the subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Daniel Ellis late of the town of Fulton in the County of Schoharie, dec’d
That the said Daniel Ellis did in the presence of these deponents subscribe his name at the end of the instrument which is now shown and exhibited to these deponents and which purports to be the last will and testament of the said Daniel Ellis dec’d and which will bears the date on the 28th day of May AD 1876 Deponents further say that the said Daniel Ellis the said testator did at the same time of subscribing his name as aforesaid at the end of the said instrument declare the said instrument so subscribed and now exhibited to be his last will and testament: and these deponents did thereupon subscribe their names at the end of the said will as attesting with each other at the request and in the presence of the said testator and of each other further say that at the said time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last will as aforesaid and at the time of these deponents subscribing their names as attesting witnesses thereto as aforesaid the said Daniel Ellis was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will of real estate and was not under restraint to the knowledge information or belief of these deponents and further these deponents say not.

I William C. Samont Surrogate in and for said county do hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the last will and testament of Daniel Ellis dec’d which was duly admitted to probate before me as a will <relating?> to real and personal estate on the 14th day of April 1888, pursuant to the Statues of the State of New York in such cases made & provided and I further certify that the proofs and examinations taken in relation to the execution thereof are herein recorded
