Anita (Whitaker) Danforth obituary

     The death of Mrs. Anita Whitaker Danforth, widow of the late Hon. G. L. Danforth of this village, occurred at Bainbridge on Sunday, wher she has resided since her husband’s death. Mrs. Danforth had reached the advanced age of 84 and was remarkably active for one of her years. She was a woman of refined taste, of fine Christian character, beloved by all who knew her.
     Mrs. Danforth was a member of the Dutch Reformed church of this village for 61 years, the oldest member. Her interests were also in the various societies of the church.
     Surviving are her nephew, Dr. Edward Danforth, and a niece. Mrs. Knight of Bainbridge, and several cousins in New York city.
     The funeral services were held from the home of her cousin, Mrs. W. C. B. Danforth of this village on Wednesday at one o’clock, the Rev. George Z. Collier of the Reformed church officiating. Burial was in the Middleburgh cemetery.
