Know all Men by these Presents, That I Wm Van Valkenburgh of Cobleskill NY am held and firmly bound unto Alice Allison of Gloversville NY in the sum of Three Hundred Dollars, to be paid to the said Alice Allison or to her certain attorney, executors, administrators or assigns. For which payment, well and truly to be made, I bind respectfully my heirs, executors or administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.
     Sealed this 30th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ninety five
     The condition of this obligation is such, That if the above bounden Wm Van Valkenburgh his heirs, executors, or administrators, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above Alice Allison her certain attorney, executors, administrators, or assigns, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars ($150) with interest as follows: the principal sum payable April 1, 1897. The interest payable annually. First payment of interest April 1st 1896 without fraud or delay, then the preceding obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
     And it is also agreed, by the said obligor that he will keep the buildings erected and to be erected upon the lands described in the mortgage accompanying this bond insured against loss and damage by fire, by solvent insurers, and in an amount if at least $150, and assign the policy and certificate thereof to the said obligee, and in default thereof, it shall be lawful for the said obligee to effect such insurance, and the premium and premiums paid for effecting the same, shall be a lien on the said, mortgaged premises, added to the amount secured by these presents, and payable on demand, with interest at the rate of 6 per cent per annum.

     On this 30th day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety five before me, the subscriber, personally came Wm Van Valkenburgh to me known to be the person described in and who executed the within instrument, and he acknowledged that he executed the same.
