Timothy Delaney
1865

From the Schoharie (NY) Union dated 1865 (*no month or day can be made out on the image): "Found Dead.--Timothy Delaney, an Irishman, resident of Cobleskill, and employed by the A & S R R. Co. as watchman on the cut between Warnerville and Richmondville, was found dead on Tuesday morning. The body was discovered lying at the foot of the trestlework, 50 feet down, and it is supposed by some that he fell off in the act of crossing. His person showed some marks of injury. His lamp and umbrella however, were lying by his side, the lamp unbroken, which circumstance forms the basis of different theories as to his death. The deceased leaves a large family and circle of friends to mourn his loss."
