THE WILL OF SALLY ANN MAYHAM (Zyllia Blass)

In the name of God amen, I Sally Mayham of the town of Jefferson in the county of Schoharie and State of New York being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do hereby make publish and declare my last will and testament in manner following.

First – I order and direct by executors hereinafter named to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses as soon after my decease as conveniently maybe.

Second – I give and bequeath to my daughter Sally Ann Veley five dollars to be paid to her by my executors within six months after my decease.

Third – I give and bequeath unto my daughter Eliza Burney five dollars to be paid to her by my executors within six months of my decease.

Fourth – I give and bequeath to my daughter in law Elen Maham my brass kittle and clock to belong to her from and after the time of my decease.

Fifth – I give devise and bequeath unto my son Charles Maham all the rest residue and residences of my property—real and personal which I may have as own at the time of by decease.

Lastly – I do hereby nominate and appoint my said son Charles Maham my sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all other and former wills by me made.

In witness where of I have herein to set my hand and seal the 25th day of May A.D. 1857

In the matter of proving the will of Sally Maham deceased:

Schoharie County SS.

Sylvanus Danforth of Jefferson in the county of Schoharie and Stephen L. Maham of Blenheim in the county of Schoharie being first duly sworn in of the court do depose and say that they are subscribing witnesses to the last will and testament of Sally Maham of the town of Jefferson in the county of Schoharie, deceased. That the said Sally Maham did in the presence of these deponents subscribe her name at the end of the instrument which is now shown and exhibited to these deponents and which purports to be the last will and testament of the said Sally Maham and which bears date as the 25th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty seven. Deponents further say that the said Sally Maham the said testatrix did at the said time of subscribing her name as aforesaid at the end of the said will declare the said instrument so subscribed and now exhibited to be her last will and testament and these deponents did therefore subscribe their names on the end of the will as attesting witnesses Hereto at the request and in the presence of the said testatrix and of each other. Deponents further say that as the said time when the said testatrix subscribed her name to the said last will as aforesaid and at the time of these deponents subscribing their names as attesting witnesses thereto as aforesaid the said Sally Maham was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will of real estate and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of these deponents and further these deponents say not.

I Lyman Sanford County Judge of said county do hereby certify that the preceding is a true and perfect record of the last will and testament of Sally Maham late of the town of Jefferson in the county of Schoharie deceased and of the proof and examination taken in relation in the validity and execution thereof at the time the said will was duly proven in open court presence and to law and the same is hereby recorded as a will of both real and formal estate.
