     On this Eighth day of April in the year one thousand eight hundred and eighty six before me, the subscriber, personally came Catharine E Karker & Solomon D Karker to me known to be the persons described in and who executed the within instrument, and acknowledged that they executed the same

Know all Men by these Presents, That we Catherine E Karker & Solomon D Karker held and firmly bound unto James W Lawyer in the sum of six thousand Dollars, to be paid to the said James W Lawyer or to his certain attorney, executors, administrators or assigns for which payment, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves and our heirs, executors or administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents.
     Sealed this 8th day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty six
     The condition of this obligation is such that if the above bounden Catherine E Karker & Solomon D Karker their heirs, executors, or administrators, shall and do well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named James W Lawyer his certain attorney, executors, administrators, or assigns, the sum of three thousand dollars on the first day of April 1890 and the interest annually on said $3000 April 1 in each year between this date and April 1, 1890 without fraud or delay, then the preceding obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
     And it is also agreed, by the said obliger that we will keep the buildings erected and to be erected upon the lands described in the mortgage accompanying this bond insured against loss and damage by fire, by solvent insurers, and in an amount of at least $1000, and assign the policy and certificate thereof to the said obligee, and in default thereof, it shall be lawful for the said obliger to effect such insurance, and the premiums and premiums paid for effecting the same, shall be a lien on the said, mortgaged premises, added to the amount secured by these presents, and payable on demand, with interest at the rate of six per cent, per annum.
