The following is the charter for the First Baptist Church of Summit transcribed from a copy mailed to me from the Schoharie County Court Clerk. It has been transcribed line per line to the best of my ability. Angeles Oakes

At a meeting of the first Baptist church in
Summit in the county of Schoharie, held pursuant
to previous notice given according to statute at the
School house near James HOWES in said town. John
B. VANBUREN and Eleazer OSBORN Junior were by a
plurality of votes, chosen to preside at said meeting __
Resolved that the name and style of this Society be
The first Baptist church in Summit. Resolved that
John B. VANBUREN, Jacob PAYNE, Gideon WILCOX,
Edmund NORTHRUP and Eleazer OSBORN Junr. Be the
Trustees of said Society. We hereby ostify that at the
time and place above mentioned, we being chosen to
preside at said meeting, did superintend the same,
and that John B. VANBUREN, Jacob PAYNE, Gideon
WILCOX, Edmund NORTHRUP and Eleazer OSBORN Jnr.
were unanimously chosen Trustees of said society; and
we further certify that the said trustees and their suc-
essors, shall forever hereafter be known and distin-
guished by the name of The first Baptist church in
Summit. In witness whereof we have here unto set our
hands and seals this nineteenth day of November

ninth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and thirty one personally appeared
before me Henry SHAFER a judge of Schoharie county
court the within named Eleazer OSBORN Junior
and John B. BANBUREN, to me known to be the
persons described and who Executed the within
certificate, acknowledged that they duly executed
the within for the use and purposes therein mentioned. I
have examined the same finding therein no alterations. I allow
it to be Recorded__ ( Recorded and signed Henry SHAFER
